The Tunulik II Fishing Camp is located on an exposed granite bluff overlooking the Lagrevé River, 1 ½ miles inland from Ungava Bay. The river offers 2 miles of pools to discover below camp and seven miles of great fishing waters above camp for the exclusive use of our six angling guests!
The camp is accessed by a Twin-Otter on wheels which lands on a natural air strip behind camp. This camp only operates for a short period during the peak of the migration from mid August to mid September.

YOUR HOSTS
The Tunulik II Fishing Camp is staffed by the Buckle family and Bobby Snowball Jr. Carole Buckle, our camp cook, has been preparing fabulous meals for Arctic Adventures’ angling guests for the past 19 years. Carole’s husband, Calvin Buckle, is camp manager and a truly professional guide who works hard to please our guests. Bobby Snowball Jr., an Inuk from Kuujjuaq, has been guiding anglers on Ungava Bay and on the Lagrevé River for many years. Bobby enjoys working on the river and sharing his knowledge of Inuit customs and traditions. Each season we receive many favorable guest comments about the friendly hospitality and dedication of our Tunulik II Fishing Camp staff.
YOUR LODGINGS
Although the Tunulik II Fishing Camp operates only 3 ½ weeks each year, this camp's facilities include three solid oil heated sleeping cabins accommodating two guests each, a separate kitchen/dining cabin, shower facilities, generated electricity, freezers and satellite telephone communications.
THE FISHING

The river is small, by Arctic standards, seldom more than one hundred feet wide and usually from two to five feet deep. The steady current in normal water conditions allows anglers with chest waders access to most of the rivers fishable waters. Sea run Brookies and Native Brookies up to seven pounds and Arctic Char later in the season migrate through these waters each year. One guide equipped with a 20 foot freighter canoe and 20 H.P. Mercury jet outboard motor accompanies three anglers on the river each day. Fly fishermen find sinking lines very effective when fishing with streamers such as the Magog Smelt, Grey Ghost or Michey Finn. Dry fly fishing when hatches occur is fast and furious. | |

As we are interested in preserving this fishery for years to come, we ask our guests to practice proper “live release” techniques to increase the chances of survival of each fish they release.
Pro Advice for Fly Fishing at Tunulik II
I have been fortunate to fish the Lagrevé River at Tunulik II several times in recent years and am happy to pass on some of my thoughts and tips to others planning a trip there.
